Diesel Cement Mixer

A typical cement mixer; whether it is gas or diesel makes, cement by mixing sand and water together. Cement can be mixed by hand but that is left for the backyard and maybe the drive way. It takes a lot of muscle to mix it by hand. For the big jobs, such as mixing for buildings and houses, the diesel cement mixer is used in many areas.

Today the diesel cement mixer is such labor saving tools it is hard to imagine life without them. One must choose the best that they can afford. They need to be durable, and can be moved with some ease. Comparing a diesel cement mixer to a gasoline mixer; the diesel one seems to be a bit more popular than gasoline. Used for small jobs, most diesel cement mixer are portable. They can be rented or even bought.

There are basically two types of a diesel cement mixer, the tow behind and the portable cement mixer. The tow behind is exactly what the name implies, it can be towed behind a truck or a van. Although portable cement mixers are cheaper some still like the tow behind. They can hook it up and be on their way.  A portable diesel cement mixer can be put in a station wagon, taking it to where the project is. The tow behind cement mixer is very powerful and has a high capacity but might be too big for the small jobs.

Many advantages of the diesel cement mixer are that most of them are extremely reliable and strong. They are more economical than the gas powered cement mixers and the diesel motor itself is more powerful than gas. The delivery of the torque is stronger, guaranteeing the thorough mixing and the aeration. Having a diesel cement mixer is safer than a gas one as it is unlikely to cause flash fires or explosions.

Having a diesel cement mixer means they are much heavier than a gasoline one. Many need a bit of safety training because diesel is a different type of fuel than gas. As in a diesel engine of a car or truck, they need to be warmed up before using. Never use a diesel cement mixer without proper ventilation, as the fumes are toxic. Most diesel engines, no matter what they are in or used for are notorious for not starting in cold weather. The newer ones now have an electric pre warmer that will warm up the diesel for an easier start.

Buying a diesel cement mixer all depends on what one will use it for and their budget. Check before you buy any of them. Decide what you want it for, maybe instead of buying one can rent one. A diesel cement mixer is the most expensive type of mixer to buy whether it is portable or a two behind. But they are extremely reliable and the capacity and power can not be beat. Choose wisely and they will last a lifetime.
